While I was in Amsterdam I’ve looked for shops related with needles and threads… but it was not easy.
I had no intention to buy anything particular. I should buy something new for me. I just wanted to see.
After all I made a few shopping.
Two books : Making kimonos and japanese clothes by Jenni Dobson. For me an interesting book about something I know nothing at all.
The other book is about a stitch I’ve never heard of : Le point de Beauvais / Beauvais stitch. This stitch has its origin in China and it had been spread through occidental Europe about 18th century. In France also known as Point Pompadour. The book is written in French.

To finish: I found this interling which I believe it was cheap (though I can’t yet say anything about its quality) and a little needle kit with several kinds which we hardly found in our shops.
(whenever I left for shopping I forgot my camara, so I haven’t a single photo from the street markets or shops I visited – shame on me! There was beautiful wools in the shop where I bought the silks…)
Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy there. Hope you had a good break.
